How much does a switchboard upgrade cost?

Switchboard upgrades generally range from $800-$2,500, however they are dependant on a range of factors specific to each job, which influences the final cost.

How much does an electrician call-out cost in Nunawading?

At DHX, a standard call out fee is $150 for non emergencies and this includes the first half an hour of labour.

Do I need a licensed electrician to change power points in Victoria?

Yes, in Victoria it is illegal to conduct DIY electrical work and all works must be completed by a licensed electrician.

Most residential switchboard upgrades take 2-4 hours to complete, pending inspection and all appropriate tests.

Most jobs are booked within the same week. For emergency call-outs the same day if possible.

Do you do after hours or emergency electrical work?

Yes. Emergency call-outs are available outside standard business hours. An after hours call out fee of $400 applies, which includes the first half hour of labour.

What is an RCD and do I need one?

An RCD (Residual Current Device) is a safety switch that cuts power instantly if a fault is detected, protecting against electric shock and fire. If your home doesn't have them, Dom can install them as part of a switchboard upgrade.

Do you provide a Certificate of Electrical Safety?

Yes. A Certificate of Electrical Safety (COES) is issued for all electrical work completed by DHX Electrical, as required under Victorian law.
